Texas State University

  • La Cima is 5 minutes from Texas State University in the middle of San Marcos on the banks of the San Marcos River with stately cypress and oak trees towering over the hilly campus. Texas State is one of the fastest growing large schools in the country with enrollment exploding from 25,000 students in 2002 to over 38,000 students today with almost 41,000 students projected by 2025. As an Emerging Research University, Texas State offers its faculty and students opportunities for discovery and innovation anchoring an emerging high-tech base for San Marcos and the I-35 corridor. A prime example of this emerging high-tech base is Texas State’s Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Park on 58 acres dedicated to research and commercialization efforts and serving as a technology incubator for start-up and early-stage businesses with access to secure wet labs, clean space, conference rooms and office space.
